Hello Tim, Sorry to hear you need hip replacements due to AVN. If you log on to Discussion Board #1 you'll read about all the people in the same situation as yourself & what they have done or are deciding to do. I've read the reason doctors say "you are too young to have hip replacements" is because Drs. know most people require repairs every 10 yrs or so after having it done. They like to discourage young people and would rather see it done on those 60 or more yrs of age - they might require only one revision (if that). Young people, being more active, are bound to wear the parts out earlier... Good luck, Mavis
