I am a 42 yr old woaman,10 weeks post Right THR. At about 4 weeks post surgery, I began to have shootting pains in my right hip - top of the thigh. The pains are most prevalent when I transfer from my bed to standing and from a chair to standing. I cannot bear any weight for a few minutes. I can then walk around, with a limp and a crutch okay. I fear sitting because I am in excruciating pain when I rise. The pain is much more intense in the evening. I have a one and a three year old and I cannot pick them up nor bend down to play with them. I have had two recent x-rays which show that the protshesis looks great. The MD is confident this wiil resolve itself in 3 months and gave me flexoril yesterday. Motrin gives me the best relief so far. I had a left THR in 1992 and a revision of it in 1999. The two surgeries went fine with easy quick recovery. Any ideas?
