Sorry to hear about your cables or del mile wires, I have a total of 3 broken in my left hip and yes it does hurt, and one of the wires is pressing into a nerve and makes my leg go numb. My doctor wants to remove them but after 3 thj replacements i have had my feel of surgery for a while and tuffing it out. thats the only fix. The wires are only used to hold the femur together from the stem being placed into the bone, and you get post op femur fractures, these steel bands hold the bone together untill the bone heals. But they never want to take them out untill they break. I am also on vicodin, 800mg of motrin, 200mg of vioxx, ultram 50mg, and alot of hot baths and heating pads for the pain and swelling.
