I understand where your coming from Weston. I had CHD that was diagnosed at 15. I had surgery to put back in place and then at 17 to take out the hardware. For the last few years a screw that was broken off in my pelvis has been groving the top of the ball of my femur. My left leg was almost 2 inches shorter than right. Up until 5 months before THR I was very active(tremendous pain always). I played football softball and live for golf. The pain got so bad that I could not take it anymore and I have an extremely high pain tolerance.
So at the age of 37 I had THR on my left hip. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Yes there are lots of things I can never do again but its all worth it to not wake up with that pain. It just gives me more time to do the things I can do like play golf, take a walk with my girl freind or even go dancing. There are lots of things you will never be able to do again but if your hip is as bad as you say you probably cant do them very well now. Its the life we have and I for one plan to enjoy ever moment of it. Tony PS: I get to start hitting golf balls again this week.
