Hi, as a new user I would like to say how comforting it is to hear others stories. I was diagnosed with acetabular dysplasia 4 years ago and have been putting off the PAO. It has suddenly become worse and at 24, I can no longer enjoy the active lifestyle I enjoyed. I booked in today for my POA in December. Whilst I am sure I will be revisiting this site for advice closer to that time, I was wondeirng if anyone had any short term pain relievers. Medications are limited due to a gastric condition (I'm a never ending source of fun and games!) although I have tried Celebrex for two weeks with no improvement. I would love be active again, has anyone tried water aerobics or any other low impact exercise? What about alternative medicines such as accupuncture, massage etc. Finally I would like to get an idea on how much time people took off work. I work in a laboratory and am on my feet most of the day. Any hints? Thanks for your time, take care.
