Hi Shari! I'm another CDH person who wasn't diagnosed until it was too late. You are not alone. Once diagnosed I was just told that there was nothing to be done and I'd eventually need a THR when I was older. After hounding my OS so much he finally referred me to a wonderful surgeon in Boston who speicalizes in helping people like us who said I didn't have to wait to be helped. I've since had 2 periacetabular osteotomies to redirect my hip sockets and am so happy. I am finally able to do the things that I never could. I can play with my kids, go shopping with abandon, go for hikes, and so much more. Don't stop looking because you can be helped. Good luck!
