My doctor did not leave me the option. I had an osteotomy because of my age. I am 31 and my doctor did not want to do a THR yet because I would have to have another one done. I would have had a THR I think. Because of the recovery time and walking ability afterward. I'm at almost 16 weeks post-op and still walking with crutches. My doctor said I would not be able to walk without assistance until 20 weeks. That is a long time. The good thing about the whole thing is the night pain is gone and so far with the limited pressure I can do the sharp pain seems to be gone when I walk. My socket will also be better for when I have to have a THR.
